The Beach That Gives the Strip Its Name
This stretch sits within a coastal banjar of Desa Tibubeneng, and its black sand runs directly along the beach road that carries the strip's cafes and clubs. Locals and guides alike treat it as the physical centre of the wider corridor, not a side attraction to it.
Two Beach Clubs Anchor the Sand
Finns Beach Club, on Jalan Pantai Berawa No.99, cites 170 metres of its own beachfront and runs a nightly free spotlight session from 6:30pm to midnight that lights the water for night surfing. Atlas Beach Club, a few doors along at No.88, opened in 2022 and markets itself as the world's largest beach club.
Between them, the two venues draw the day-trippers and sunset crowds that keep cafes and short-term rentals nearby in business. Surfers and swimmers use the same sand for a different reason entirely.
A Surf Break for Most Skill Levels
The break here shifts with the sand, running over a sand-and-coral bottom with two separate reef setups further out. It works on all tides and picks up best on south, southwest or west swells of two feet or more, a spread that suits newer surfers on the inside and stronger surfers on the reef sections.
That range is unusual for a single stretch of coast this short. Most nearby breaks favour one skill level; this one does not.
What the Water Does Not Tell You
Most of this sand has no lifeguard watching it, and a drowning was reported around August 2025, with strong rip currents and a sudden-breaking shore wave named as the hazards. Parking is a smaller but real cost too: roughly IDR 2,000 to 5,000 for a scooter and IDR 5,000 to 10,000 for a car.
